About Brighton and Beacon
Allie Johnston
Allie has a dual degree in education and English from Boston College. She began her career teaching in a variety of educational settings including public and private schools in both the early childhood and elementary grades. More recently she has worked for more than a decade in the educational publishing arena in both editorial and research capacities. Her experience includes large and small-scale qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, product development, publishing plan development, product management, and all aspects of the editorial process from planning and writing to developmental and copy editing to proof reading and editing for both print and digital media. She also confers and contributes on marketing and promotional projects.
Annie Connors
Annie has a dual undergraduate degree in education and fine art from Boston College and a Masters Degree in Language & Literacy from Harvard University. She has more than ten years of teaching experience in public schools and is an accomplished literacy specialist and reading coach, specializing in providing direct instruction to students and professional development for teachers. Annie has served as a consultant for both authors and academic publishers on a variety of programs and initiatives. Most recently, she served as a Curriculum Specialist forĀ TheĀ Language Diversity and Literacy Development Research Group at Harvard University and supported writing and review of curriculum for use in the Boston Public Schools.
